This past weekend I visited the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus Ohio, and was completely overcome by the beauty of not only the incredible plants but the Chihuly Studio glass pieces that are part of the conservatory there. Each piece of glass is a thousand works of art, depending on the time of day, the weather and brightness of the sun, the growth of the plants, the angle at which you are standing, and for one installation, even the movement of koy fish in the water. Brilliant. Amazing. I could not be more inspired. Humanity is having a lot of trouble in a lot of places right now. Seeing the beauty and gentleness of which we are also capable was like medicine to my heart. This exhibit went a long way toward healing some parts of me that have been in agony. This is why, no matter what else is happening, we must continue to create. It’s going to take me a while to even process it all! Just…wow. Love yourself. Love others. Make art!!
