I've been working on my botanicals. Interestingly, in watercolors there's kind of two ways to go, either you seek for photorealism (which for many takes years and years to achieve) or you seek distinct anti-perfectionism--drippy lines, uneven colors, indistinct shapes, that as a whole, express an image. I'm not sure that there is a better way to describe myself! I'm imperfect, often blurry and watery, and very often feel like I don't even understand the shape of myself. That's ok. There is beauty to be found in all of it, and my task is to love and have compassion for myself no matter what "shape I'm in", and to love others the same way. I invite you to do the same.

Love, Cheri
