I'm not gonna' lie folks, my brain and body are processing a lot of fear right now. I've been breaking out in itchy hives, and fighting sleep. Sharing my message that self-care and self-love are imperative feels more important now than ever. Right now, loving myself means I limit how much time I spend on social media and news because there is so much that can shoot right to the center of my anxieties. It means that I say no to things that don't feel right to me, and that I tell myself yes if I need some extra support and love. It also means that I look for empowering ways to help what I see in the world that is causing me fear. In quiet ways. Because that is what I can manage. There is no right or wrong way to handle our processing of current events. We all need to do whatever feels right for ourselves. No one can take care of my nervous system and my heart but me. No one can take care of yours but you. Please do that. And if you can, find ways to make a difference that feel meaningful to you while you love yourself through it.
