It’s ok to look away from things that dysregulate your nervous system. I know that right now especially, it’s easy to stoke fear and anxiety in myself if I spend time looking at current event news stories or social media posts. I purposefully do not watch movies or tv shows that are gory, or scary or too vividly murdery. The same goes for other things that give me shock or fear. I take comfort instead in looking for the kindness of helpers and being a force for love and calm in the world. Kindness is a super power. It’s ok to look away. Taking care of ourselves is job #1.
